A lot of amazing people were forgotten in our Canadian history
Why?
Simple... They were not on the side of the ones writing it down
It is said that history is written by "winners"
Namely: conquerors, invading nations and unscrupulous entrepreneurs
Many great stories are told about North America's explorations and the big names that “led” them
But the real heroes were the small people in the adventure. The crew and the local population. Those who did not tell their story. Humble people making the journey possible by their courage, skills, experience, and knowledge of the land
Not the ones being carried around to give their names to history
Professional voyagers, translators, trappers, hunters, Coureur de bois, fur traders... All Indigenous, Metis, Canadiens, and settlers’ extraordinary beings
The same level of admiration goes to those who fought for their rights in this invasive quest for colonial domination and natural resources control
Those were the real heroes of legend
We created the Canada Enduring knife with these extraordinary people in mind
And it is, therefore, to those very special people... that we dedicate this very special knife...
CANADA Enduring - Inspired by the Heroes of Yesterday
